Constraint sets

Success target: Two completed constraint sets, win or lose.

How to run it

  1. 01Play a normal set with one constraint for your pair: for example, every point you win must include a lob, or you may only finish points at the net.
  2. 02The constraint applies to you, not the opponents — they play free.
  3. 03Pick the constraint from your weakest test dimension.
  4. 04Play 2 sets with different constraints.

Why it works

Constraints smuggle deliberate practice into real matches — you get match pressure and repetition of your weakness at the same time.
